Family has always been a big part of Anna's life. They've been there for her, but they've also sometimes been a source of pressure. The loss of Anna's stepfather brought her closer to her family, but it brought a lot of pain and stress, too. Balancing taking care of her mom and dealing with her own grief was hard for her. It took a toll on her mental well-being and played a role in her substance use disorder (SUD).
Still, Anna's strong relationships with her family were what motivated her to seek treatment and recovery. She is determined now to be there for her sisters and her children—and she hopes to support her mom's recovery journey, too.
