"We Are Someone's Loved One"

Updated: Aug 22, 2024

Andres has a growth mindset, something he gained as a direct result of his substance use disorder and recovery.

Andres says there’s one simple ask we can make to support our community members working to manage their medical conditions, including substance use disorder: "How can I help you today?”

He has a growth mindset, something he gained as a direct result of his substance use disorder and recovery. It’s affected the way he shares what he’s feeling with the people in his life. “If I'm not feeling well or I'm a little off today, guess what? I get to communicate, share that with somebody and get feedback and take that into consideration and just grow on a daily basis.”

He is passionate about reducing addiction stigma by treating people with respect and kindness.

“It's all about giving opportunities whenever possible. Just keep an open mind, show that willingness and let's move forward. Forever forward.”

One compassionate conversation can help someone on their path.
