Katelyn Leads With Kindness

Nowadays, Katelyn's all about positivity—and she hopes to see the same from her community.

Katelyn is so grateful for the many blessings in her life, like her home and her daughter. But in the past, she had a hard time getting the help that she needed, especially during her substance use disorder (SUD). She was afraid of what might happen if she was honest about her struggles, so she didn't speak up about her SUD when trying to get housing.

Nowadays, Katelyn's all about positivity—and she hopes to see the same from her community. She wants to see less judgement and more support for people in active addiction. "People don't realize the judgment that they put on others really has an effect on them. You know, they're trying to find themselves," Katelyn reminds us. Showing kindness, both to ourselves and others, can truly make a difference.
